Ecto gambling is an unofficial term used by player to refer to one of three methods of spending globs of ectoplasm on random rewards. Specifically:

• Destabilized Ectoplasm, which can be purchased from Tarrktun and related NPCs in various amounts, commonly as Globs of Destabilized Ectoplasm for 250 & 100
• Sandstorm card gambling, in which various 'winning' hands can be purchased from the Dealer in the Free City of Amnoon, among other vendors. These have the same three price tiers as used for Destabilized Ectoplasm.
• Mystic Forge gambling, using the Ectoplasmic Stone, which can be used as an item substitute in the mystic forge. It costs 25 plus three pieces of gear.

1. On the night ecto gambling was released I went from 3500g to 7000g, then told myself I'd keep going until I got bored or went broke, whichever came first. I didn't get bored. I did get the personal vendor though, which is really nice for selling junk on the fly.
2. Started gambling for fun, won like 300g and 1k ectos. Thought wtf this is easy money. Kept gambling to get to 100 times for item as well. Almost lost all my fortune, had to sell a prec i was saving to get some money back.In the end i lost 200g out of the 800 i had and like 450 out of the starting 500 i had.

• Gold and Ectoplasm drops are similar to Glob of Destabilized Ectoplasm, but the bonus item is different.
• Purchases of these do not count towards the Legendary Tarrktun Supporter achievement.
